Wemyss Renewables acquired the consented Balagowan hydro site from the local forestry owner, developing the scheme design, and taking the project through financial close, construction and into operation. The scheme operates a 300kW pelton turbine with 145m of head. Two intakes feed the turbine through 1.6km of pipe. Balagowan was commissioned in September 2016 and qualifies for Feed in Tariff.
